andverticaltermination.Confirmthemaximum
horizontalrunandmaximumverticalrisefromthe
diagramsinthe"VentingArrangement"section.
Whenplanningyourinstallation,itwillbenec-
essarytoselecttheproperlengthofventpipe
foryourparticularrequirements.Forhorizontal
installations,determinetheminimumclearance
fromtherearoftheunittothewall.Itisalso
importanttonotethewallthickness.(Thewall
thimbleissuitablefor2x4or2x6wallconstruc-
tion.)Selecttheamountofverticalrisedesired
for"vertical-to-horizontal"typeinstallations.
Warning: Always maintain required
clearances (air spaces) to nearby
combustibles to prevent a fire
hazard. Do not fill air spaces with
insulation.
Theminimumclearancerequirementsbetween
the outer wall of the vent pipe and nearby
combustible surfaces is 1-1/2", except when
passingthroughawall,ceiling,oratthetermina-
tionwheretheuseofafirestoporwallthimble
reducestherequiredclearanceto1".
Besuretochecktheventterminationclearance
requirementsfromdecks,windows,soffits,gas
regulators,airsupplyinletsandpublicwalkways
asspecifiedinthe"ExteriorVentTerminalLoca-
tions"sectionandinyourlocalbuildingcodes.
Todeterminethelengthofventpiperequired
forverticalinstallations,measurethedistance
fromtheunitflueoutlettotheceiling,theceiling
thickness,theverticalriseinanatticorsecond
storey, and allow for sufficient vertical height
abovetheroofline.
For multi-storey applications, fire stops are
required at each floor level. If an offset is
needed,additionalpipe,elbowsandsupports
willberequired.
