Engine Oil
Oil Recommendations
Always check and change the engine oil at the intervals outlined in the
Periodic Maintenance Chart beginning on page 41. HAMMERHEAD
recommends the use of 10w40 Conventional Engine Oil for this vehicle.
NOTICE:
Mixing brands or using a non-recommended oil may cause serious
engine damage. Always use the recommended oil. Never substitute or
mix oil brands.
Oil Check
Maintain the oil level within the
safe range on the dipstick. Do not
overfill.
1. Position the vehicle on a level
surface.
2. Remove the dipstick. Wipe it
dry with a clean cloth.
3. Reinstall the dipstick
completely.
4. Remove the dipstick and
check the oil level.
Tip:
A rising oil level between checks
in cool weather driving can
indicate contaminants such as
gas or moisture collecting in the
crankcase. If the oil level is over
the full/safe mark, change the oil
immediately.
5. Add the recommended oil as
needed.
6. Reinstall the dipstick.
Fuel Filter
This vehicle is equipped with an in-line fuel filter. The filter should be
replaced at the intervals recommended in the Periodic Maintence Chart
beginning on page 41. Your dealer can assist.
NOTE:
Do not attempt to clean the fuel filter.
