Interconnection of Master and Slave control panels
The communication between ERRS CP2 Control Panels in a network is a RS 485 communication
using 3 wires. See wiring diagram for maximum cable length and area.
Test and verification of connections after installation
1.
Secure all liferafts etc. to prevent unintended launching in case of a mistake in the
testing procedure.
2.
Open all the ERU connector boxes and disconnect the wires to the H20ERU release units.
3.
Connect jumper wires between the terminals in all the ERU connector boxes.
4.
On the ERRS CP2 control panel push the button MAINTENANCE to enter the
maintenance menu. Use the scroll buttons (yellow arrow up/down) to select menu item
2 - SYSTEM ERRORS and push the SELECT pushbutton. The system shall now report
back that “there are no errors”.
5.
Remove the jumper wire in the ERU connector box for ERU 1. Return to the ERRS CP2
control panel and check the message on the screen. If the wires for the output have
been correctly connected the screen shall now report back that there is an error on:
OUTPUT 1.
6.
At the ERU connector box for ERU 1 again install the jumper wire.
7.
Remove the jumper wire in the ERU connector box for ERU 2. Return to the ERRS CP2
control panel and check the message on the screen. If the wires for the output have
been correctly connected the screen shall now report back that there is an error on:
OUTPUT 2.
8.
At the raft again install the jumper wire for raft 2.
9.
Repeat step 7 and 8 for all outputs to ensure that all outputs are connected to the right
release unit.
10.
When all outputs have been checked push the MAINTENANCE pushbutton to exit the
maintenance menu.
Activation test
We recommend that the ERU Emulator HM-0467 is used at the activation test. It is also possible
to test the function of the outputs by using 200mAF glass tube fuses, see separate instruction
after this section. The ERRS2 control system will not be damaged by activating outputs with
jumper wires connected between the output terminals!
1.
Connect an ERU emulator to the ERU connector box for ERU 1. Start the ERU emulator by
pushing the small pushbutton. The LED on the emulator shall now flash green. There
shall be jumper wires installed in all other ERU connector boxes.
2.
Return to the ERRS CP2 control panel. The display shall now be dark without any
message.
3.
Push the ON/OFF pushbutton for 5 seconds (a progress bar will go from left to right on
the display while you are pushing the button). The display shall now display RELEASE:
RAFT 1.
4.
Push the RELEASE pushbutton for 5 seconds (a progress bar will go from left to right on
the display while you are pushing the button). When the display reports RELEASING:
RAFT 1 you can release the pushbutton.
5.
Check that the ERU emulator connected to output 1 now is flashing red. If it is flashing
red proceed to next step, if it still is flashing green check the wiring between the ERRS
CP2 control panel and the ERU connector box.
6.
If output 1 activated ok move the ERU emulator from ERU connector box for ERU 1 to
the ERU connector box for ERU 2. Reset the emulator to flash green by pushing the small
