Troubleshooting
PROBLEM
PROBABLE CAUSE/SOLUTION
No power.
• Check that the plug has been inserted correctly into the outlet and that the power switch is in the ON (
I) position.
• Espresso maker is in power-saving mode. Press espresso or lungo button.
Espresso is not
dispensing.
• The capsule inserted may be faulty. Try again with a new capsule.
• No water in the water reservoir. Fill water reservoir with clean water.
• Unit is preheating. Wait for the espresso and lungo buttons to turn solid.
There is water at the
bottom of the machine.
• Make sure that the reservoir has been placed correctly into position.
The capsule cannot
be placed into capsule
holder.
• Check if the used capsule container is full and needs to be emptied. The handle may not have opened correctly.
Try opening handle again.
The capsule cannot
drop into the used
capsule container
normally.
• Check if the used capsule container is full and needs to be emptied. The handle may not have opened correctly.
Try opening handle again.
A slight hiss can
be heard after the
espresso has been
dispensed.
• This is a function of the espresso maker which is normal.
Espresso drips from
the espresso dispenser
after brewing is
completed.
• This is normal and the dripping will stop. Keep the cup on the cup rest until dripping stops.
Cup lights are flashing.
• Water reservoir is empty or reservoir is not securely in place. Add water to water reservoir. Place water reservoir
securely in base.
• Espresso maker needs to be descaled. See Care and Cleaning on page 7.
