b) Connect the Level Meter to the OUTPUT 600 Ω
and ter minate it with 600 Ω. The output vol-
tage should be minimum 1.5 V.
c) Disconnect the 600 Ω resistor. The output vol-
tage should be approx. 3V.
Synchronous output function
a) HM8037 settings: optional
b) Connect the channel I of the oscilloscope to
the OUTPUT 600 Ω
c) Connect the channel II of the oscilloscope to
the SYNC. OUTPUT
.
d) Both output signals are in-phase. The output
voltage of the SYNC. OUTPUT
should be
approx. 2 V
pp
. It should be independent from
the settings of the control elements.
Checking the distortion factor
a) HM8037 setting:
AMPL. 1
V
b) Connect the OUTPUT 600 Ω
to the input of
HM8027.
c) Connect the monitor output of HM8027 to the
input of HM8012; use 200 mV
AC
range. The
distortion factor has to be read on the display
of the HM8012, because of the lower resolution
of HM8027 display. E.g.
HM8027 displays 0.00;
HM8012 reading is 0.75.
This corresponds to a distortion factor of
0.0075% at the selected frequency.
d) Check the distortion factor in every range by
using the curve shown in the „Distortion factor“
section of the operating instructions.
Function of the ground reference switch
The correct function of the ground reference
switch is checked by measuring the resistance
between the BNC socket ground terminal and
chassis ground. When button
is released,
a conductive connection is established bet ween
circuit ground and chassis ground. If button
is pressed, this connection must be inter rupted.
