Setting up a DSL connection without provider software for OS X
Important note if you have selected a time-based payment plan:
When you fi nish using the Internet, always disconnect the DSL
connection if you do not switch off the computer afterwards. If
the computer is not shut down and the broadband connection
remains active, further costs are incurred.
To confi gure the connection, you need a login and password
(access data) which are stated in the documents you received
from your Internet provider.
Ensure that you are logged in as the administrator in Mac OS X
and have all rights required.
Click
System Preferences
in the Apple menu or the Dock and
click
Network.
Network confi guration:
Click the
“Assist me...”
button to continue.
Click the
“Assistant...”
button to continue.
In the next window, you can enter a name for the new location.
After you enter the name, e.g. DSL, click
“Continue”.
In the window shown above, select
“I use a DSL modem to
connect to the internet”
and then click
“Continue”.
