6. Assembly / operation
6.1 Preliminary note on extending and
setting up the ladder
1. Place the collapsed ladder vertically with the crossbar [H]
on a firm level surface and place one foot in the middle
of the ground rung (1st rung) in order to secure the ladder.
The side with the release buttons [E], [F] show the user
that this is the front side and the correct side for climbing
the ladder.
2. First separately extend both positioning rails [D].
The positioning rails provide a secure position for using
the telescopic ladder.
Extend both positioning rails [D] completely; the release
buttons [E] must automatically lock securely in place.
• RED marking [E-1] is not visible =
the positioning rail is locked.
• RED marking [E-1] is visible =
the positioning rail is unlocked.
After extending the ladder, the red marking [E-1]
must no longer be seen.
If the red marking [E-1] still can be seen, the release
button [E] must be pressed (see 6.3), the positioning rail
pushed in, and the procedure repeated.
3. Always extend the telescoping ladder from the lowest
extendable rung upwards; the telescoping ladder must not
be extended using a rung from the middle or upper part.
A block formation (group of unextended ladder rungs)
must only occur in the uppermost ladder section.
