SALTWATER COAST INSTALL
•
The outdoor unit should be installed at least ½ mile away from the salt water, including seacoasts and inland
waterways. Please follow the installation instruction below if the unit installed from ½ mile to 5 miles away from
the salt water, including seacoasts and inland waterways.
•
Install the outdoor unit in a place (such as near buildings etc.) where it can be protected from sea breeze which
can damage the outdoor unit.
•
Construct a protection wall around it to block the sea breeze if you cannot avoid installing the outdoor unit by
the seashore.
•
A protection wall should be constructed with a solid material to block the sea breeze. The height and the width of
the wall should be 1.5 times larger than the size of the outdoor unit. Also, allow
at least 28” (700mm) between the protection wall and the outdoor unit for air
circulation to ventilate.
•
Install the outdoor unit in a place where water can drain.
•
Contact GEA Ductless for assistance if the above conditions cannot be met.
WIND BAFFLE AND SNOW HOOD INSTALL
–
If the outdoor unit is installed in a region that affected by strong wind, it is recommended to install front wind
baffle. Corresponding wind baffle number can be found in product catalog. The installation instruction can be
found in the manual shipped with front wind baffle accessory or online at
GEappliancesairandwater.com.
– If the outdoor unit is installed in a region that affected by snow accumulation, it is recommended to install the
side and back wind baffle (snow hood) accessories. Installing side and back wind baffle (snow hood) accessories
will reduce the snow/ice accumulation on the coil, it will reduce the defrost cycles and help maintain a stable
comfortable indoor temperature. Corresponding side and back wind baffle number can be found in product
catalog. The installation instruction can be found in the manual shipped with side and back wind baffle (snow
hood) accessory or online at
GEappliancesairandwater.com.
