Mounting the motor without a mount-
ing tool
The motor can be mounted onto the driven
shaft without using a mounting tool, though this
is more difficult and takes longer time. However,
it is easier to mount the motor if during mount-
ing the compressed air trapped within the hol-
low shaft is evacuated. To do this, remove the
End cover as described in "Mounting the motor
with a mounting tool"
Align the motor with the driven shaft using
an overhead crane or lifting truck and press
it carefully onto the shaft
so that the length
stated in the table beside is obtained, see
figure 3.11.
To achieve the highest possible oil level in the
motor housing, the motor must be turned until
the drain outlets are positioned according to
figure 3.12.
