REGULATING FOAM COLLECTION
Collection Cup
• For heavily-stocked aquariums or for dark foam/skimming, lift the Collection Cup and lower the O-ring gradually.
• For aquariums with normal stocking levels or for light foam/skimming, lower the Collection Cup by lifting the O-ring gradually.
ATTENTION:
It is advisable to adjust the Collection Cup in small intervals of 1/8” or 1/4” (2-4 mm) at a time. For every adjustment,
you will need a few hours before verifying if the foam production suits your needs. Repeat this process until you achieve the desired
setting without going beyond the indicated “Minimum” and “Maximum” water levels.
Air Regulation
Air flow can be regulated by adjusting the airflow control valve. Air regulation is very
important and depends on the aquarium stocking, the type of foaming desired, etc.
The Fluval Sea Protein Skimmer is designed to operate with the air flow control
completely open to optimize ratio between air volume, the expansion nozzle and
quantity of water skimmed.
WARNING: Before removing the skimmer, empty the collection cup to prevent
the waste from accidentally falling in the aquarium.
ATTENTION:
Always operate the Fluval Sea Protein Skimmer with the lid and the air intake tube correctly positioned. The air tube
should always be positioned correctly on the Collection Cup Lid and should never hang over the side of the aquarium to prevent the
drainage of the aquarium itself.
