Note: If the motor fails to run in the following procedure, disconnect the Shaker
from its AC power source, discontinue this procedure and repeat the visual in-
spection above seeking obstructions. If no obstructions are found, proceed to
“Troubleshooting” on page 3-7 and reference the failure "Motor fails to operate
when power is applied to the Shaker."
1. Plug power cord into appropriate power outlet (110-120 VAC 60 Hz or
220-240 VAC 50-60 Hz) and observe the operation of the Shaker. The LED
display will show a pixel test as it initializes, then it will display <READY>.
2. Press the <*> button. The shroud should oscillate in a smooth end-to-end
tilting motion, accompanied by the sound of the motor running. The flow
rate indicator light should rapidly blink red, because there is no blood
flow.
3. With the Shaker running, gently but firmly press down on the front of the
shroud. The audible alert (one long beep) should sound, the red flow rate
indicator on top of the Shaker should illuminate and the tube clamp
should snap closed (the tube clamp should be visible between the tube
holder and the clamp body). If any of the above indications are not ob-
served, place the power switch in the "off" position, remove AC power and
proceed to
“Troubleshooting” on page 3-7 of this manual.
