Mounting and commissioning
4.1 Connection of phase and battery cables
You have to take care of the cabling between controller and motor as well as controller and battery yourself.
Make sure that the cross-sections are suitable for the power.
The phase cables must be fitted with Ø4 mm gold contact plugs and plugged into the sockets provided. For
the connection of the battery, cables with 6mm cross-section are at the controller, a suitable plug must be
attached.

4.3 Motor control
The HST-50 supports different modes for motor control. You can set the desired mode via the GUI
(graphical user interface).
4.3.1 Block commutation (BLDC)
In BLDC mode the motor is driven by 2 phases, the third phase is used to determine the commuta-
tion time. This mode is standard for most brushless inverters.
NOTE
Unintentional loosening
To prevent unintentional loosening of the screw connection, select a suitable screw
locking device (spring washer, lock nut, etc.).
NOTE
Distance between cable lugs
Make sure that the cable lugs do not touch each other.
