Storing FUNDUS MODULE 300 without battery
FUNDUS MODULE 300 contains rechargeable Li-Ion battery pack. Service life of the battery is approximately 1-2
years. Battery needs to be replaced when battery service life is passed. When battery is at end of its service life,
usage time of the device goes down.
Customers will receive the device without battery installed. Instruction Manual gives the instructions for installing the
battery and charging. It is recommended to remove the battery if device is stored for more than 2 months.

Software
5.1
Updating / flashing
Only Optomed service centre can do software update. To prevent unauthorized updates, security key provided by
Optomed needs to be installed to the device memory. This chapter includes overview of the software update process
but no instructions for security key are given.
5.1.1
Required devices and programs
•
Software package from Optomed service centre
•
FUNDUS MODULE 300 cradle
•
PC running Windows Vista®, 7®, 8.1® or 10® connected to FUNDUS MODULE 300 cradle.
•
FUNDUS MODULE 300 camera to which software will be updated
5.1.2
Flashing instructions
1.
First check the software version of the FUNDUS MODULE 300 from Device menu - Camera SW version. Check
that the software version in the release_notes.txt that is delivered with the software package is newer than the
version in FUNDUS MODULE 300.
2.
Connect the camera to the cradle

Connect the PC to the cradle
4.
Copy software package to the memory card
5.
Remove the device from the cradle
6.
Wait for the device to start up
7.
Power off the device and re-start the device
8.
Check that update is completed by checking the software version from Device menu - Camera SW version
9.
After update there is new tab “RD” in the menu. To delete this tab select “Kill RD”.
5.1.3
Formatting instructions
1.
Place the camera to the cradle and wait for FUNDUS MODULE 300 drive to appear.
2.
Right mouse click FUNDUS MODULE300 drive, choose Format.
3.
Choose File system FAT32.
4.
Choose Allocation unit size 32 kilobytes.
5.
Press Start and wait for format to complete.
