correctly. 

UID button LED 

Steady on 

The UID LED is activated. The UID LED can be activated 
by pressing the UID button or from HDM or OM. 

Flashing (1 Hz) 

The system is being managed from HDM or the 
firmware is being upgraded. 

Flashing (4 Hz) 

HDM is restarting. To restart HDM, press the UID button 
LED for 8 seconds. 

Off 

The UID LED is not activated.

5  Installing and removing the module 

 

CAUTION: 

  Wear a reliably grounded ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves when installing and removing the 

module. 

  Do not touch the components on the module. 

 

5.1  

Installing the module 

1. 

Wear an ESD wrist strap, and make sure it makes good skin contact and is reliably grounded. 

2. 

Remove the filler panel (if any) from the target slot. 

This example installs the module in slot 2 on the switch. 

3. 

Hold the module by the front panel with one hand and support the module bottom with the other. 
Slide the module steadily into the slot along the guide rails.
