I. Assembling the apparatus

(minimum of two people)

:

1 -

Place the beam body

(1)

upside down on the floor on a clean area (or keeping its packaging once opened), see

Fig. 1

.

2 -

Remove the fasteners fitted under the body (24 24 washers

(6)

), removing them either side of the body

(1)

: the

8 screws

(10)

 securing the fixed plates

(13)

are not identical to the 16 screws

(9)

 for the slides

(12)

, as shown in

Fig. 2

.

3 -

Locate each upright complete

(5)

on the underside of the body

(1)

, matching the holes to the fasteners: insert each screw

fitted with a washer

(6)

, then start screwing them in by hand. Finish using a wrench leaving them finger-tight.

Important:

press down on slides

(12)

to apply them correctly to the underside of the body and to make it easier to insert the screws.

4 -

Fit the bases

(2)

to the ends of the uprights

 (5)

 and secure them using washers

(6)

and nuts

 (7)

Fig. 3

.

5 -

Turn the assembly the right way up and place it on its legs on a flat surface (at the chosen location).

6 -

Lock all fasteners

(9)

(10)

under the body

(1)

.

II. Adjusting the height of the apparatus  (0.45 to 1.40 m):

Note:

the 2 legs can be adjusted to different heights in order to use the beam in a tilted position.

1 -

The height is adjusted at either end of the body by means of cranks

 (8)

, see

Figure 4

:

- Insert each crank

(8)

in the socket provided for this purpose, at the end of the rack

(20)

 under the body.

- Increase height by turning it clockwise, until the upper stop is reached.
- Reduce height by turning it counterclockwise, until the lower stop is reached.

Important:

for safety’s sake, it is imperative that both handles

(8)

are removed while the apparatus is in use.

2 -

A graduated self-adhesive strip

 (22)

 affixed to each slide

(12)

enables the height to be read off by noting the position of

the outside of the moving carriage

(21)

of the leg as shown in

Figure 5

.

3 -

A configuration with a 20 cm landing mat incorporating the legs can only be used at heights of 90 cm and over. For the
adjustment range below this figure (45 to 90 cm), it is highly advisable to place landing mats either side of the legs

(15)

,

covering the bases

(2)

 of the beam legs.

III. Maintenance (see complete illustration, Page 3):

1

A regular cleaning of the apparatus allows better viewing of the problems, if any (distortion, breakage or corrosion).

Before use, check wear parts and safety elements each time for sound condition and operation:

- check all fasteners

(7)

(9)

 and

(10)

, for tightness, and pins

(16)

 and

(17)

fitted with their washers, to ensure they are secure.

- carry out a visual inspection of plastic bushes

(18)

and roller stops

(19)

for correct condition.

- check to ensure there is no free play between the various components that make up the leg uprights

(5)

.

 Important:

- If a defect is detected or suspected, do not use the equipment as long as it has not been checked by a technician.
- Any damaged or distorted component must be replaced as soon as possible.
