Purpose and Use of Hoist
Purpose
DH 1000 ceiling-mounted hoist – item No. 12071 - is a tested lifting module.
DH 1000 is suitable for use in small and simple rail systems and its low
weight and easy clip-on/off device for mounting facilitate the use in different
rail systems.
Being portable, the DH 1000 is ideal for use in contemporary installations
such as a holiday residence, a mobile home, or in hotels.
DH 1000 with Swing-Kit (option) allows the hoist to pass from room to room
underneath the doorframe, in situations where a permanent installation with
the rail through the door is undesirable.
Requirements
The instruction that Guldmann offers all customers when ordering a DH 1000,
has been received.
When DH 1000 is used, the assumption is that it will be operated by qualified
staff.
DH 1000 is used in Guldmann rail systems equipped with Guldmann lifting
slings.
Use slings with 4-6 lifting straps designed for use with hooks of min. Ø 8 mm.
Lifting to and from a sitting position
When lifting from e.g. a wheelchair, move DH 1000 towards the person to
be lifted. DH 1000 should be level with the chest and positioned above the
middle of the thigh.
Position DH 1000 parallel to the user’s shoulders. Now fit the lifting sling to
DH 1000. For instructions on how to fit the sling, see the section entitled “Fit-
ting the sling”.
Lifting to and from a lying position in bed
DH 1000 is placed right over the person to be lifted. It can be beneficial to
raise the back section of the bed to bring the person to a sitting position. DH
1000 should be parallel with the person’s shoulders. Now fit the lifting sling to
the lifting hooks. For instructions on how to fit the sling, see section entitled
“Fitting the sling”.
