HDE 200
2.3 Description
The HDE 200 cassette is used to feed standardised analogue audio and video
signals into 2 SPI data streams from completely different audio and video sourc-
es (e.g. audio and video reproduction devices, test picture generators, observa-
tion cameras etc.). It is equipped with 2 stereo/audio inputs and 2 video inputs.
The video signals are supplied by a processor that encodes them in real time.
The stereo audio signals are transferred via an adjustable amplifier to the encoder
and are encoded according to the MPEG 1/ Layer II standard. The bit rates are
adjustable.
The cassette supports the D1 format (720 x 576 pixels) at data rates of
1.5 … 6 Mbit/sec. These data rates include a 16-bit stereo audio channel.
At the
DVB-SPI
output sockets (25-pin, SUB-D) a transport stream is provided accord-
ing to ISO/IEC 13818 for subsequent processing in the
HDM 20x QMX cassettes.
The operating software of the cassette can be updated ("
BE Flash
" software)
using a PC or notebook via the 9-pin SUB-D socket. You can find the current
operating software for the cassette on the website "
www.gss.de
".
When the head end station is switched on, the two-line LC display briefly shows
the software version of the control unit and then the cassette type of the slot oc-
cupied first.
If no key is pressed for five minutes, the software version of the control unit is
displayed.
The cassettes are intended for use in the head end stations STC 316, STC 1200,
STR 19-8 and PST 19-1.
