1  Important information on safety and assembly

 •  Mount  the  amplifi er …

  -  on a non-fl ammable surface (wall),

  -  in a dust-free, dry environment,

  -  protected from moisture and water (rain or splashing water),

  -  at a place protected from direct sunlight,

  -  away from the immediate vicinity of heat sources,

  -  taking the maximum permissible operating temperature into account.

• Do not perform installation and service work during thunderstorms.

• Only install the unit when disconnected from the 230 V mains power supply.

• Check the coaxial cables for short circuits before starting. Eliminate any.

• No liability is accepted for any damage caused by a faulty connections and /

or inexpert handling.

• Observe all applicable standards, guidelines and directives (VDE0100,

VDE0185, VDE0855, VDE0860, DIN18015, EN61319-1, EN50083).

• Earth the system via the equipotential bonding connector belonging to the building.

• Only open the cover on the mains adapter if the amplifi er is disconnected from

the mains.

 • Dispose of the product after use as electronic waste in compliance with the ap-

plicable disposal regulations.

2 Technical description

The interactive multimedia capability distribution amplifi ers built into a die-cast housing are
for supplying small building units and CATV house-networks. Beside the adjustable amplifi er
they contain the diplex fi lter and the return channel amplifi er. The levels of the input signal
and of the return channel signal can be adjusted from 0 … -20 dB and the level of the line
equalization from 0 … 18 dB. The power supply is integrated in the amplifi er housing.

3 Assembly

Mount the distribution amplifi er in such a way …

 –

that the convection cooler is not obstructed by the vertical cooling fi ns on the

  back of the housing.

– that the permissible ambient temperature is maintained (measured in the air-

stream below the housing).

.
 •

Screw the distribution amplifi er onto the wall according to the dimensions in Fig. 1

  (screws:

Ø

 4.8 mm).

•  Fasten the earthing line (Cu

 4 mm

2

) to the earthing connection

A

 securely.

•  Connect HF input and HF output.
