2 Preparation

2.1 Inserting / replacing the batteries

This appliance runs on two 1.5V batteries (AAA/
UM4/R03). Always replace all of the batteries at the 
same time.
1. Open the battery compartment lid on the bottom 

of the appliance by pressing and pushing down on 

the arrow and removing the battery compartment 

lid.

2. If necessary, remove the expired batteries first 

and dispose of them in an environmentally friendly 
way. Place two new 1.5V batteries (AAA/UM4/
R03) into the battery compartment. Pay attention 
to the correct polarity as indicated in the battery 
compartment.

3. Close the lid of the battery compartment. Make 

sure that it clicks into place.

Do not expose the batteries to extreme 

heat, caused for example by direct 

sunlight, heaters or fire.

If the battery is running low, the warn-

ing “

” appears on the LCD display 

(2). Insert two new batteries immedi-

ately.

Remove the batteries if they are flat 

or when you plan not to use the ap-

pliance for a long period of time. The 

manufacturer accepts no liability for 

damages caused by leaking batteries.

2.2 Environmental note

Batteries, including those which do not contain 
heavy metal, should not be disposed with domestic 
waste. Please dispose of old batteries in accordance 
with the legal regulations which apply in your area.
