4.3. Power Connection
Make sure the camera’s power cable is correctly and firmly connected, please refer to the pin definition table in
section 4.1. Camera’s Connectors. If using Power over Ethernet (PoE), make sure the Power Sourcing Equipment
(PSE) is in use in the network.
4.4. Ethernet Cable Connection
Use of Category 5 Ethernet cable is recommended for network connection. To have the best transmission quality,
the cable length shall not exceed 100 meters. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the RJ45 connector of the
IP Camera, and the other end of the cable to the network switch or PC.
NOTE: In some cases, you may need to use an Ethernet crossover cable when connecting the IP Camera directly
to the PC.
Check the status of the link indicator and the activity indicator LEDs. If the LEDs are unlit, please check the LAN
connection.
Green Link Light indicates good network connection.
Orange Activity Light flashes for network activity indication.
4.5. Hard Ceiling Installation
This IP Dome Camera can be directly installed on a wall or a ceiling. Please note that the wall or ceiling must
have enough strength to support the IP Dome Camera.
Follow the steps below to install the Dome Camera:
Items Needed:
- Ethernet Cable
- Power Cable (supplied) (necessary if PSE is not available)
- Alarm Cable (optional)
- Audio Cable (optional)
- Alignment Template (supplied)
- Rubber Washer (supplied) x2
- Plastic Screw Anchor (supplied) x2
- M4x50 Self-tapping Screw (supplied) x2
Tools Needed:
- Tools for drilling
- (+,–) Screwdriver
- Security Torx (supplied)
Step 1:
Use a Security Torx to unscrew the two Torx screws on both
sides of the Dome Cover, as shown in the figure, and open the
Dome Cover. The Security Torx is included in the package.
