Lubrication
Inspection
Electric motor
All
Keep the motor housing clean
(otherwise cooling can be
affected).
The motor housing may only be
dismantled by authorized
Grundfos personnel.
The roller bearings are
maintenance-free. They should be
replaced if they get noisy.
For motors filled with dielectric oil,
oil level check and oil change are
not required.
Power cable
All
The power cable must be checked
twice a year for surface damage,
strain, kinks, etc. If damaged,
the cable must be replaced.
Gearbox
All
Check the gearbox for leaks
twice a year.
Change the oil after 500 operating
hours.
Then every 8,000 operating hours
or after one year of operation.
Check lip seals, speedy sleeve and
wear ring and replace them, if
worn.
If the oil contains water,
replace the mechanical shaft seal.
Check the oil level twice a year.
If refilling is required.
See section 9.3.1 Oil quality.
Propeller
All
Check the propeller regularly for
wear and tear. Remove any
material wound round the
propeller, such as ropes, threads,
etc. which may cause uneven
running and oscillation of the
installation. In case of strong
turbulence, cleaning is absolutely
necessary.
Winch
All
Spray the winch with a protective
coating of oil at regular intervals
to prevent corrosion.
The gear teeth and the bearing
bushes must be lubricated twice a
year with an all-purpose grease.
Lifting cable
All
Regular oiling or greasing
increases the life of the cable.
Check the cable regularly and
always before using the winch.
Replace the cable, if required.
Screws
All
Always check that all screws in
the pump rack are properly
tightened.
