Application
Infrared fittings with thermostat are designed for hot water
supply via pressurised storage heaters and, utilised in this
way, provide the best temperature accuracy. With sufficient
power output (from 18 kW or 250 kcal/min), electric or gas
instantaneous heaters are also suitable.
Thermostats cannot be used in connection with unpressurised
storage heaters.
All thermostats are adjusted in the factory at a flow pressure
of 0.3 MPa on both sides.
Should temperature deviations occur on account of special
installation conditions, the thermostat must be adapted to local
conditions (see “Adjusting”).
Safety notes
Prevention of frost damage
When the domestic water system is drained, the thermostats
must be drained separately since non-return valves are
installed in the hot and cold water connections. For this
purpose, the thermostat must be removed from the wall.

Installation
Flush pipes thoroughly before and after installation
(observe EN 806).
Install S-unions and screw-mount the fitting,
see Fig. [1].
Refer to the dimensional drawing on fold-out page I.
Install spout
, see Fig. [2].
Open cold and hot-water supply and check connections
for water-tightness.
Reversed connection
(hot on right - cold on left):.
Replace thermostatic cartridge 47 217, see fold-out page II,
Prod. no.: 47 657.
When using this thermostatic cartridge, the Cool Touch
function is no longer available.
Operation
The infrared electronics are set as follows at the factory:
Start water flow
Hold hand at a distance of 5cm in front of the sensor system,
see Fig. [3].
Stop water flow
• 1 s after leaving the detection zone.
• On approaching with the hand again.
The range of the sensor system is dependent upon the
reflective properties of the detected object.
Automatic safety shut-off
After 60 s of continuous detection of an object, the infrared
electronics automatically stop the water flow.
Activating cleaning mode
• Only possible when temporary shutoff is activated
Terminating cleaning mode prematurely
