Replacing Brushes
Replacing Fuse
This machine is equipped with a univer-
sal motor that uses a pair of carbon brush-
es to transmit power. These brushes are
considered to be regular "wear items" or
"consumables" that will eventually need to be
replaced. The frequency of this replacement is
directly related to how much the motor is used
and how hard it is pushed. These brushes are not
covered under warranty.
Replace both brushes at the same time if the
motor no longer reaches full power, operates
inconsistently, or when the brushes measure less
than

" long (new brushes are

If your machine is used frequently, we recom-
mend keeping a set of these replacement brushes
on-hand to avoid any downtime.

1. DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER!
2. Unscrew and remove brush caps (refer to
Figure 46) and worn brushes from motor.
This machine features an onboard fuse designed
to protect sensitive electrical parts in the event
of electrical overload. If the fuse has blown, the
motor will not start.
To verify the condition of the fuse, remove it from
the switch box and hold it up to the light. If the
element is broken, the fuse is blown and must be
replaced.
