The blade height is defined as the distance
between the conveyor table and the bottom face
of the bandsaw blade. There is an internal limit
switch that will not allow the blade to be adjusted
closer than
1
⁄
4
" to the conveyor table. Note—
Use
the “Blade Memory Function” described in the
next subsection when you want to make resaw
cuts thinner than
1
⁄
4
", and be sure to cut from the
top of the workpiece.
The blade height can be adjusted by using the
keypad, or by pressing the
UP
and
DOWN
con-
trol panel buttons. After using either method of
adjustment, the digital display will indicate the
current blade height.
To set the blade height with the
UP
and
DOWN
control panel buttons:
1.
Turn the control panel
POWER ON
switch
clockwise to supply power to the control
panel.
2.
Press the UP button to move the blade up
and press the
DOWN
button to move the
blade down. Watch the digital display to
gauge the blade height.
To set the blade height with the keypad:
1.
Turn the control panel
POWER ON
switch
clockwise to supply power to the control
panel.
2.
Press the
FUNC
key.
3.
Enter the desired blade height to the nearest
hundredth's place. For example, if you want
the blade height to be 2", press

on
the keypad. If you want the blade height to
be
3
⁄
4
", press
7
,

.
4.
After the blade height has been entered,
press the
START
key.
Setting Blade Height
The digital display indicates the distance between
the conveyor table and the bottom face of the
bandsaw blade. The digital display needs to be
calibrated to ensure that the displayed blade
height and the actual blade height are the same.
To calibrate the digital display:
1.
Resaw a piece of scrap wood. See “Resawing”
on
Page 27
for more information.
2.
Measure the thickness of the workpiece that
was cut off between the conveyor table and
the blade. Note—
Use a precise measuring
tool such as calipers or a micrometer.
3.
Press the
SET
key.
4.
Enter the thickness value of the cut-off
piece measured in
Step 2
. For example, if
the thickness is 1", press
1
,
0
,
0
on the key
pad.
5.
Press and hold the
SET
key for approxi-
mately 5 seconds or until the display stops
flashing
.
The digital display is now calibrated and all blade
height values displayed will be the same as the
actual distance between the conveyor table and
the bottom face of the bandsaw blade.
