Angle

 

With regard to angle from  the horizontal, the best angle for a solar panel that does not get  adjusted for 
seasonal variation, is 15° more than the latitude where the panel is installed. 

For example Sacramento, California, is at approximately 40° N. So the angle from horizontal for the face 
of the solar panel is 40° + 15° = 55°.  See Figure 7.
