Operation
Electric shock hazard:
Contact with live circuits could result in severe injury
or death.
For highest accuracy:
Lay the meter flat on a non-metallic surface, away from any magnetic
objects.
Read the scale straight on—not at an angle.
If possible, select a range that results in a reading in the upper 1/3 of the
scale.
1. Zero the meter as follows: Remove the test leads from the circuit or
component. Do not allow the tips of the test leads to touch each other. With
the Selector in any position, adjust the Mechanical Adjustment Screw to
set the pointer to the far left side of the scale.
2. Before taking a resistance measurement, set the meter to
Rx1K
. Connect
the tips of the test leads together and read the meter. Use the Ohm
Adjustment Knob to set the needle to the far right side of the scale
(0 ohms).
Note: If you cannot zero the meter, replace the battery. If you cannot zero
the meter after replacing the battery, send the unit to Greenlee for repair.
3. Refer to the Settings Table. Start with the highest measurement setting of
the measurement function.
4. Test the unit on a known functioning circuit or component.
If the unit does not function as expected on a known functioning circuit,
replace the battery and/or fuse.
If the unit still does not function as expected, send the unit to Greenlee
for repair.
