10.1 FUEL SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING
The following troubleshooting chart is to be used to
isolate fuel system problems and give possible causes
are corrective action responses
The troubleshooting key is generic and can be used for
several types of transmissions. Use only those
possible causes and corrective actions that apply to the
unit.
10.2 FUEL TANK REMOVAL
1. Clean and disconnect the fuel line at the fuel tank
fitting.
2. Remove the right side tank rod and loosen the left.
NOTE: It may be necessary to loosen one of the tank
brackets in order to slide the tank out.
3. Slide the tank out.
4. Pull the tank fitting and pick-up tube, up and out.
Pop out the rubber bushing.
5. Move the fuel cap up and down to see if the float
works properly.
6. Inspect and replace any worn or damaged parts.
10.3 FUEL TANK INSTALLATION
1. Reassemble in reverse order. Be careful not to
damage the rubber bushing when installing it.
NOTE: It is recommended to change the fuel filter
whenever work is performed on the fuel system.
