Change Engine Oil and Filter
See Figures 28 and 29.
NOTE:
Change engine oil and oil filter (B) at
MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE on page 44.
See Engine Manual for complete procedures.
1. Park unit safely. (
2. Allow engine to cool.
3. Remove hose (C) from storage clip (D).
4. Position hose end over appropriate
container.
5. Remove cap (E) from end of drain hose.
6. Allow oil to drain into container.
7. Install cap on end of drain hose.
8. Replace hose into storage clip.
9. Clean area around dipstick (A) to
prevent debris from falling into
crankcase.
10. Remove dipstick (A). Wipe with a clean
cloth.
IMPORTANT:
Avoid damage! To prevent
extensive engine wear or damage, always
maintain the proper engine oil level. Never
operate the engine with the oil level below the
ADD mark or over the FULL mark.
11. Refer to the Engine Manual and add
recommended oil in the correct amount.
Oil must be between the ADD and FULL
marks.
Clean Air Intake Screen and Engine
Fins
IMPORTANT:
Avoid damage! The engine is
air-cooled and requires a large amount of air
intake when running. Reduced air intake can
cause overheating:
•
Keep air intake screen and cooling fins
clean.
•
Keep covers and screens in place.
Keep air intake screens and engine cooling
fins clear of debris to ensure proper cooling.
