Glue together the side panels (parts 41 or 42) and
the top / bottom parts (part 43) to form the battery
box. Glue the completed battery box in the air
scoop, with the larger opening facing forward. The
correct position is approximately 1 mm forward of
the imprinted “U”.
•
Glue the upper part of the air scoop neatly to the
lower section.

The model can now be painted. When painting is
complete, glue the tailplane in place using foam
cyano.
•
Fit the propeller driver (part 45) on the electric
motor (part 44). If you are using the COMPACT
290 SP 7.4 V the driver features an integral
precision spinner.
•
Fix the electric motor to the motor mount bulkhead
using two of the screws supplied with the motor.
Connect the extension leads to the motor. NOTE:
check that the motor rotates in the correct
direction! If it spins the wrong way round, swap
over any two of the three motor wires to reverse it.
Insulate each soldered joint carefully with a heat-
shrink sleeve. Fix the cables to the motor mount
tube using cable ties or adhesive tape.
•
Now mount the propeller (part 46) on the motor.
•
Glue the two planing skids (part 47) to the insides
of the sponsons. They should blend into the
sponsons at the front, and project by about 10 mm
at the rear.
•
Glue the chine (part 48) to the underside of the hull
at the stern; it should project beyond the hull by
about 1 mm. The chine promotes easier take-off
from water, and also protects the Depron surface
from abrasion damage.
