9. Connect the bearing housing with the swivel hous-
ing. Note that the air distribution ring must align with
the four guide pins (GP) on the bearing housing.
10. Slide the complete unit onto the central body and
secure in place with the lockring.
11. Attach the nozzle head to the central body. Ensure
the guide pins are in correct position. Note that
spring pressure on the material valve needles make
this a bit hard. Tighten the screws cross wise.
12. Fit nozzles, nozzle packings and nozzle cap.
Testing Before Installation
If the applicator has been assembled after a major
repair or maintenance operation, it is recommended to
do a function test before the applicator is returned to
production.
The extent of the test is dependent on the degree of
maintenance performed on the applicator and the avail-
able test facilities.
A minimum level of function test is to connect the com-
pressed air supply, checking for air leakage by opening
each of the solenoid valves manually.
The electrical connections can be checked using an
ohm-meter to test the connections from the plug to the
terminals and to make sure that there are no short-cir-
cuits.
Make a last check on all fasteners and then follow the
installation instructions to mount the applicator on the
robot.

If the applicator is tested off-line with material pres-
sure applied, it is very important to take appropriate
safety measures to prevent personal injury, such as
skin injection.
