Installation/Operation

Kit 222–147, 222–007

The system shown in Fig. 1 is for the fast evacuation of
waste oil from rolling waste oil receivers. The receivers
are rolled up to a centrally mounted pump. A Graco
Husky 1040
 pump is shown.

Ordering Note

Order one Installation Kit for Waste Oil Receivers
222–147 (which includes items 1 to 13), for each Husky
1040 pump. Order one Receiver Evacuation Kit
222–007 (which includes items A, B, C and D) for each
waste receiver which you want to evacuate.

Installation

1.

Assemble the air supply parts, items 4 through 9,
and mount the assembly for convenient access by
the operator, and so that no stress is placed on the
restrictor hose (5).

2.

Assemble the remaining parts as in Fig. 1, except
do not connect the camlocks (13,B) yet.

3.

Install a ground wire and clamp. See page 11.

4.

Connect the main air supply line to the ball valve
(9), but do not turn on the air yet.

Starting and Adjusting the Pump

1.

Be sure the pump is properly grounded and
bonded. Read and follow FIRE OR EXPLOSION
HAZARD
, on page 3.

2.

Check all fittings to be sure they are tight. Use a
compatible liquid thread sealant on all male
threads, and do not overtighten the fittings into the
pump.

3.

Fill the waste oil receiver about 1/4 full.

4.

Connect the camlocks (13, B).

5.

Open both of the fluid ball valves (12, A).

6.

Back out the air regulator knob (6) completely.

7.

Open the ball valve (9) from the main air line.

8.

Slowly close the regulator (6) until the desired
pump performance is obtained. Do not use higher
air pressure than needed for good suction.

9.

If you are using a Husky 1040 pump, perform the
Vacuum Test given in the pump manual.

10.

When the receiver is empty, close the ball valves in
this order:  the lower ball valve (A), the upper ball
valve (12), and then the air ball valve (9).

11.

Disconnect the camlocks (13, B).
