Tips and tricks
• Before cooking, rinse the rice under cool, clean water to remove any starch and bran.
This prevents the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pot while cooking.
• The perfect ratio of rice to water may differ depending on the type of rice: When using
types of whole grain rice (e.g. brown rice, wild rice etc.), you should use a bit more
water than the two parts to one part rice as otherwise recommended. Also add an
extra one half measuring cup of water to the cooking container.
• Different types of rice have different cooking times: Please note that whole grain
rice (e.g. brown rice, wild rice etc.) must be cooked longer than long grain rice for
example. You should therefore let the rice sit for longer until the grains of rice are
completely cooked through.
Cleaning
ATTENTION!
• Allow the device to cool off completely before you clean it.
• Prior to each cleaning, pull the mains plug out of the socket.
• Never submerge the main unit, the mains cord or the plug in water or other liquids.
• Never clean the main unit in the dishwasher!
• Clean the device immediately after every use to prevent the build-up of germs.
• When cleaning, do not use any scouring or abrasive cleaners. They could damage
the surface. Do not use any metallic objects.
1. Take the cooking container out of the main unit and clean it along with the lid with
warm water and a mild detergent. The cooking container and lid can also be cleaned
in the dishwasher. However, we wish to point out that the surfaces may become dull
after being cleaned frequently in the dishwasher.
2. If necessary, clean the outer housing of the main unit with a damp cloth and mild
cleaner.
3. Clean the inner housing of the main unit (heating element etc.) with a damp, soft
cloth. Keep the heating element free from contamination.
4. After cleaning, store the device and all accessories in a clean, dry place.
