1. Place the device on a level,
fi
rm and heat-resistant surface. Make sure it is a suf
fi
-
cient distance away from kitchen wall units etc. as steam will escape from the device.
2. Open the water tank cover and pour the water into the water tank. Make sure that the
amount of water is between the bottom and top marks on the water level indicator.
3. Insert the
fi
lter holder into the
fi
lter compartment. Make sure that it is properly seated.
4. Insert the permanent
fi
lter into the
fi
lter holder.
5. Fill the permanent
fi
lter with the desired quantity of coffee powder.
6. Close the water tank cover. It must engage properly.
7. Place the lid on the jug and turn it clockwise until the catch lever is below the jug
handle.
8. Place the jug on the hotplate.
9. Plug the mains plug into a properly installed, easily accessible plug socket which
corresponds to the technical data of your device. Make sure that the mains cable is
neither squashed nor bent and cannot come into contact with hot surfaces.
10. Switch on the device. To do this, press the On / Off button. The control lamp in the
On / Off button lights up.
If you want to stop the brewing process prematurely, press the On / Off button again.
The control lamp then goes out.
The coffee machine has a non-drip valve. You can also take the coffee jug from
the storage plate during the brewing process and pour yourself a cup of coffee.
But be careful: You should place the coffee jug back on the storage plate within
approx. 20 seconds to prevent the permanent
fi
lter from over
fl
owing with water!
11. The device switches off automatically after the brewing process and the control lamp
goes out. You can then take the jug off the storage plate.
12. To serve the coffee, press down the catch lever on the lid of the jug. This opens up
the pourer. You do not need to screw off the lid.
13. Remove the mains plug from the plug socket when the device is not in use.
14. After use, clean the permanent
fi
lter, the
fi
lter holder and the jug in the manner de-
scribed in the “Care” chapter.
