Software
The system can be configured via the antenna software. To enter the program, you
have to connect the serial interface of an ordinary PC via an interface converter with
the serial interface of the antenna. For antenna variants with RS422 interface (i.e.
HG 98780ZA/XA) an appropriate interface converter is required. Then start a termi
-
nal program on the PC.
The interface converter is not part of the system‘s scope of supply! However, it is
available from several well-known distributors, as e. g. RS Components (
). Please refer to the section „Industrial Interface Con

verters“ in the RS Components catalogue.
6.1 Terminal program
In the following we refer to the program
HyperTerminal
®
(
Hypertrm.exe
), which
is part of the scope of supply of Microsoft® Windows® 95/98/NT®. We use this pro
-
gram on one hand because many users dispose of it, and on the other hand because
it is very easy to use thanks to the configuration files we deliver.

Nevertheless, any other terminal program can be utilized, provided that it contains
VT52 emulation. If you should use a different program, please read the documenta

tion and adjust it to the values shown in section 6.1.1 below.
6.1.1 Parameter presettings
Depending on whether you want to run the monitor program or the software update,
different parameters are necessary. If you are using HyperTerminal, you do not need
to enter these parameters and can move on to section 6.2 on page 28.
If you are using a different port than
COM1
with HyperTerminal, then alter the port
