1    Safety Instructions

1.1 General

• 

Read the user manual completely and carefully before use.

It is part of the product and contains important information for correct use.

Keep this user manual.

It must be available for uncertainties and passing the product.

Power Supply

Notes for network separation 

The product has no power switch and may be used only in easily accessible outlets 

to quickly remove it in an emergency and after use.

• 

Voltage-free only when the plug is pulled.

• 

In case of emergency, during thunderstorms and after use, pull the pro-

 

duct on its plug housing!

Do not open the housing.

Compare the specifications of product, power supply and peripherals.  

 

These must be identical.

Description and Function

2.1 

Ethernet Switches 

This product is a ethernet switch which extends your home network without big in-

stallation effort and enables networking of multiple PCs or other Ethernet-enabled 

devices to one another or to the Internet. It supports auto-negotiation, that means 

other than to a hub, data packets are forwarded by hardware address to the respective 

desired target device at a stroke. Auto-MDI(X) automatically adjusts the transmitting 

and receiveing power to the communicating devices. The transfer method „Store and 

Forward“ guarantees a safe data transmission.

2.2 Displays

PWR-LED is on:  

device on, voltage supplied.

PWR-LED is off: 

device off, no voltage supplied.

LAN 1-5/8-LED on:  device connected.

LAN 1-5/8-LED off:  no device connected.

LAN 1-5/8-LED 

flash:  device transfers data

Intended Use

  We do not permit using the device in other ways like described in chapter  

  Description and Function. Use the product only in dry interior rooms. Not  

  attending to these regulations and safety instructions might cause fatal 

accidents, injuries, and damages to persons and property.

4 Preparing

• 

Compare voltage, mains voltage and frequency of product and mains.

• 

Check the scope of delivery for completeness and integrity.

Connecting and Operating

Ensure safe cable laying.

1. 

Connect any of the RJ45 ports of the Ethernet switch by shielded network  

 

cable to your ADSL/Router. 

2. 

Connect any of the RJ45 ports of the Ethernet switch by shielded network  

 

cable to your PC and/or further etthernet-able devices.

3. 

Connect the supplied power supply to the DC input of the Ethernet switch  

 

and to a well reacheable mains socket.

The Ethernet switch is cascadable in any manner, this means also several Ethernet 

switches can be used together.

6 Operating

The Ethernet switch works automatically and contains no operating elements to 

operate during use.

• 

To reset the Ethernet switch if necessary, unplug it for around 5 minutes  

 

from mains.
