Completely remove the EPIRB
from the water and leak-test
fixture
•
Dry excess water using
compressed air blowing clear any
water near the leak test hole.
•
Apply sufficient (but not
excessive) silicon sealer into the
leak test hole to promote a good
seal.
Use only a neutral cure
( i.e. not acidic) silicon
sealant
.
•
Immediately insert then tighten the
test hole sealing screw to 30cNm
(0.3Nm) torque, before the sealant
begins to cure.
•
Fully dry the exterior of the EPIRB
using an absorbent cloth and / or
air gun, as required.
