ANTI-CORROSION PROTECTION
Failure to refinish bare metal will result in corrosion.
The basic steps to refinish bare metal are as follows:
1.
Prep the metal surface(s) as follows:
A.
Remove burrs from the edges with a file or sandpaper.
B.
Thoroughly clean the metal with solvent and allow to completely dry.
C.
Apply self-etching primer to all bare metal.
D.
Allow primer to properly dry.
2.
Apply base coat paint and allow to properly dry.
3.
Apply clear coat and allow to properly dry.
4.
Apply OEM approved Wax available at a Chevrolet dealer.
SHELVING AND BULKHEAD INSTALLATION
Bulkhead
The bulkhead should be attached to the OEM supplied weld nuts in the roof cross member and the floor. No new
attachment points should be added. Loading should be distributed evenly utilizing as many mounting points as
possible.
Before bulkhead installation, it is necessary to cut away the rear portion of the headlining to avoid interference with
the side curtain air bags deployment zones. The headlining should not be trapped, pinched or glued to the bulkhead. To
correctly measure the headlining cut line, refer to HEADLINING CUT
