5. Turn the wheel wrench
clockwise to raise the jack lift
head until the slots in the jack
head fit into the metal flange
behind the cut out on the
plastic molding. Do not raise
the vehicle yet.
6. Put the compact spare tire
near you.
7. Turn the wrench clockwise in
the jack to raise the vehicle.
Raise the vehicle far enough
off the ground so that there is
enough room for the spare tire
to fit under the wheel well.
8. Remove all of the wheel nuts.
9. Remove the flat tire.

Rust or dirt on a wheel, or on the
parts to which it is fastened, can
make wheel nuts become loose
after time. The wheel could come
off and cause an accident. When
changing a wheel, remove any
rust or dirt from places where the
wheel attaches to the vehicle. In
an emergency, a cloth or a paper

towel can be used; however, use
a scraper or wire brush later to
remove all rust or dirt.
10. Remove any rust or dirt from
the wheel bolts, mounting
surfaces, and spare wheel.
11. Place the compact spare tire
on the wheel-mounting surface.
