Steering Trim
The vehicle should go straight without turning the steering wheel. If not, press the Steering Trim knob above the steering
wheel in the direction needed for the vehicle to go straight.
Throttle/Brake Trim
Let the throttle in neutral position and push the vehicle on the ground a little. It must be easy to roll. Now press the
brake, the vehicle should stop immediately. If not, press the Throttle Trim knob under the steering wheel in the direction
needed.
CHECKLIST BEFORE YOU START
Check all screws on permanent seat.
•
Check all the moving parts to work without binding.
•
Check the air fi lter. When appropriate, clean the fi lter and oil it with new Air fi lter Oil –
•
Never run with out oil on
the fi lter!
Check the Fuel tubes for leaks.
•
Check the batteries in the remote control.
•
Check your frequency, so that a trouble-free operation is ensured.
•
Please read also the enclosed Nitro-Bull manual and the Nitro safety precautions.
•
CARBURETOR BASIC SETTINGS
Before starting the engine please check the carburetor linkage. Then remove the airfi lter from the carburator. Turn on the
transmitter and model and check the apparent gap. In neutral position the gap should be between 0.5 and 1mm (also
see fi gure). Now pull the throttle to full speed and check the carburetor to open completely.
RUN-IN AND ADJUSTING THE ENGINE
The Run-In phase of the engine is crucial for the proper performance. If you don´t keep the Run-In conditions exactly,
you can damage the engine and shorten its life. During the Run-in time always use the same fuel (with the same nitro
content) as you want to use it later. Although the carburetor is adjusted correctly by the factory, you have to deal with the
following settings and with the Run-in procedures. If you change the fuel brand or run the engine under very different
conditions (outdoor temperature hot / cold, high / low location, etc.), you have to adjust at least the high-speed needle
in order to prevent overheating or to achieve the maximum performance of the engine. Let the engine never run at full
throttle without the wheels on the ground
.
THE RUN-IN PROCEDURES
During the fi rst four or fi ve fuel-tank fi llings the high-speed and the idle adjustment screw should be clearly on the „rich“
side (see explanation below). When accelerating there should be slight delays and thick smoke, and the smoke must
cease if the model is gaining speed. At full speed should be a clear smoke from the exhaust plume. Leave the vehicle on
fl at ground on a running track oval. Push the throttle slowly when the vehicle is on the straight line, and let the car run on
idle when you are close to the curves. This will also give you a sense for the reactions and the handling of the vehicle.
If you are an experienced racer, you can also run-in the engine by place the car against a wall or other fi xed object and
run the engine in idle position for at least two or three fuel-tank fi llings (increase the idle RPM with the Throttle Trim or
the idle adjuster screw on the carburetor, so that the engine will not die).
