Instructions for Use!
G
Prolonged use of the unit can cause the
pressure of the gas cartridge to decrease
so strongly that the flame becomes
smaller or even extinguishes.
In this case, wait until the gas cartridge
returns to the ambient temperature of
+20 °C until +25 °C.
G
The device is intended especially to
remove weeds.
G
The most effective way to use the ther-
moflamm is when the weeds have a
high sap content. The best time to
remove the weeds is the springtime. The
younger the weeds the more intensive
the effect. The success of this method of
weed removal and the effect of the
flame upon the weeds is not immediate-
ly visible however. The success of the
thermoflamm is variable depending
upon the type of weed being tackled.
G
Weeds with smooth leaves react most
intensely and can be destroyed even
after the first treatment,however a
100% success rate on weeds with hard
leaves, for example thistles, will only dry
out after repeated treatments at one of
two weeks intervals. Hard grasses are
extraordinarily robust and demand a rel-
atively lenghty treatment period.
G
The unit should only be used on smaller
areas. Once the weeds become too tall
they must be mown first. The treatment
is however less effective since the weeds
are stronger and the liquid reserves in
the roots are greater.
G
During the initial period, the areas can
require to be treated up to five times to
achieve long lasting success.
It is then sufficient to apply subsequent
treatments at twice monthly intervals.
G
Weeds only need to be heated up. Actual
burning-off is not necessary. The heat
causes the cells of the leaves to dry out
and thus the weeds die.
G
Certain types of weeds require repeated
treatment.
G
If any problems arise during operation,
the first thing to do is to close the valve
and then remove the gas cartridge.
Maintenance and Storage
G
The device does not require any special
maintenance. The user should ensure
that the O-rings are in place between
the device and the gas cartridge and are
in good condition.
G
The O-rings should be replaced if they
are damaged or if there are leaks.
G
The device must be stored in a dry place
and with the gas cartridge removed,
preferably in a place that can be locked
up and is inaccessible by children.
Disposal
G
Completely empty the gas cartridge and
dispose of in compliance with the dual
recycling system.
G
Do not force open the gas cartridge.
We reserve the right to make
technical changes!
