“Set Tracking Preferences” command 

This command will determine the mode of operation for the Proprietary Motion Activated Track command.  Proprietary 
Motion Activated Track provides for three modes of operation:

Continous Tracking 

2.

 

Motion Activated Tracking 

3.

 

Motion Activated Tracking with Dock mode 

In 

Continuous Tracking

 mode, the STINGR will obtain and transmit GPS location along with the specified payload on the 

interval specified in the Proprietary Tracking command until the Cancel Proprietary Tracking command is received. 

In 

Motion Acitvated Tracking

 mode, the STINGR will obtain and transmit GPS location along with the specified payload 

on the interval specified in the Proprietary Tracking command while monitoring the state of the internal vibration sensor 
(accelerometer).   When no vibration is detected for more than five minutes, the STINGR will enter Suspended Track 
mode.  While in Suspended Track mode, the unit will not obtain GPS positions or send any messages.  Once vibration is 
detected which indicates possible motion of the unit, the STINGR will resume tracking at the specified reporting interval.  
The threshold (sensitivity) for motion detection is built-in and has been optimized for vehicle tracking. 

In 

Motion Activated Tracking with Dock Mode

, the STINGR will operate in Motion Acitvated Tracking mode as described 

above, except that when in Suspended Track Mode, the unit will obtain a GPS location upon sensing vibration.  If the 
GPS location indicates movement in excess of 200 meters, the STINGR will exit Suspended Track Mode and resume 
tracking.
