SAFE ASPIRATION KIT
Cleaning and Special Care
• The safe aspiration hand operator and accessories are fully autoclavable.
• Clean by immersing all pieces in a solution of water and mild laboratory detergent.
Do not use abrasives, as this may affect operation of the control valve. Rinse with
distilled water.
• Autoclave the unit prior to disassembly for cleaning after working with
biohazardous materials. Refer to Image 3 for disassembly instructions.
• Immediately flush the aspiration hand operator with ethanol after working with
organic solvents.
• To avoid build-up of deposits, immediately flush the aspiration hand operator with
distilled water after working with salt-rich solutions.
• Apply a thin coat of silicon grease as needed to the control valve. (Refer to Figure 3)
Recommended Tips
For optimum performance of the single- and 8-channel plastic tip adapters with
ejector, we recommend using PIPETMAN® DIAMOND Tips DL10, D200, and D300.

NOTICE
Installation
Insert the back of the aspiration hand operator with barbed fitting into the
silicon tubing of the aspiration system. (Refer to Image 2)
Insert a disposable aspiration pipette, the single- or 8-channel stainless steel
adapter directly into the port on the front of the aspiration hand operator.
(Refer to Image 2)
For the single- or 8-channel plastic tip adapter with ejector, remove the bayonet
cap and silicon adapter. Then screw on the plastic tip adapter with ejector.
(Refer to Image 2)
Vacuum pressure can be controlled by depressing dark blue button on top of the
aspiration hand operator. (Refer to Image 2)
Residual vacuum can be controlled by turning dark blue plastic screw at bottom of the
aspiration hand operator. Turning screw one full turn clockwise shuts the valve and cuts
off the vacuum. Turning screw counter-clockwise adjusts the constant suction level.
The safe aspiration hand operator is factory pre-set to allow a low level of constant suction.
