You will now see the first screen of the configuration programme with information about the
setting of your Internet browser.
If you see the error message "This page cannot be displayed" instead of this screen, please
check that you have typed the address correctly, make sure that your browser is not in offline
mode and deactivate any other LAN connections of your computer.
You will now see the login page of the configuration program.

Enter the password
admin
(factory setting) and click on
OK
.
After a few moments you will see the start screen of the configuration programme.
ì
Run the basic settings wizard by clicking on the area marked
Basic Setup
or select the entry
with that name in the menu bar.
The basic settings wizard will take you through the configuration procedure step by step. On
the right-hand margin of each screen you will see explanations of the various configuration
settings.
It is strongly recommended that you carry out the security settings after completing the basic
settings.
Operating mode Repeater
After configuring the basic and security settings for
Repeater
mode, you have to activate the
repeater function on the access point so that the access point can recognise the Gigaset WLAN
Repeater as repeater. The operating instructions for the device will tell you how to do this.
Configuration is complete once your Gigaset WLAN Repeater has successfully connected to the
access point. Remember however that the Gigaset WLAN Repeater is still automatically assign-
ing IP addresses to connected devices. You may have to alter the configuration if you have con-
figured your Gigaset wireless router differently from its factory default settings. Further infor-
mation about this will be found in the detailed operating instructions.
You should restart all the devices once all the configuration settings have been made.
Operating mode Access Point
Once you have configured the basic and security settings for
Access Point
mode, connect all
the PCs, you wish to include in your wireless network to the Gigaset WLAN Repeater by setting
the correct SSID and the appropriate WEP encryption for your network adapters on it. Informa-
tion about this will be found in the operating instructions for the network adapter.
When you have configured your wireless network, you can connect the Gigaset WLAN
Repeater to a router via the LAN socket and the wireless network to a wired network.
Network adapter mode
Carry out the following steps in the order shown:

First, assign a fixed IP address to the Ethernet card of the PC or games console to which the
Gigaset WLAN Repeater is connected. To find out how to do this, please read the operating
instructions on the supplied CD-ROM.

Then open the configuration programme as described on page 17.
ì
Then run the basic settings wizard.
