Configuring call transfer via VoIP
You can connect an external call to one of your VoIP connections with an external
connection (depending on the provider) by setting up an external consultation call.
You can configure settings for this type of call transfer.

Configure your settings for call forwarding via VoIP in the following fields:
Use the R key to initiate call transfer with the SIP Refer method
If you choose
Yes
, you can connect the two external callers with each other via
the R function. You can assign the R function to a function key or display key on
your phone.
Your connections with the parties are terminated.
Transfer Call by On-Hook
If you select
Yes
, the external parties are connected when you replace the hand-
set. Your connections with the parties are terminated.
Derive target address
Define the protocol (the contents of the "Refer To" information) to which prece-
dence should be given for call transfer in order to determine the destination
address:
from the SIP URL
This protocol is recommended when the base is connected to the Internet via a
router with NAT.
from the SIP contact header
This protocol is recommended for "closed" networks (internal company and
business networks).
Determine target address automatically
If you select
Yes
, the base will automatically attempt to determine the best pro-
tocol.
If the base cannot determine the best protocol, it will use the protocol defined
in
Derive target address
.
Hold on transfer target
Define the type of call transfer:

For attended transfer
, the first call on the VoIP connection of
your phone must be held until the consultation call is accepted. Only then
can the two callers be connected with each other.

For unattended transfer
, the caller must only be held waiting
until you have started the consultation call (dialled the number). You can
forward the call before the two participants have registered.
