Your phone is delivered ready to send SMS
messages immediately.

Prerequisites:

Calling Line Identification is enabled for
your phone line.

u

Your network provider supports SMS on
the fixed line network (information on
this can be obtained from your network
provider).

u

To receive SMS messages, you must be
registered with your SMS service pro-
vider. This occurs automatically when you
send your first SMS.

Please note:

u

Every internal party (desktop phone, reg-
istered handsets) can only access SMS
(read/edit/delete) received or sent via
an MSN that has been assigned to the
party as a send or receive connection.
To assign MSNs to your handset, please
see

If you wish to receive SMS messages via
several MSNs, you must register each
MSN separately with your service pro-
vider.

If you are interrupted by an external
call while writing an SMS, the text is
automatically saved in the draft list.

If the memory is full, or if the SMS
function is being used by a handset,
the operation is cancelled. An appro-
priate message appears in the display.
Delete SMS messages you no longer
require or send the SMS later.
