The following pages will give the technical sheets relative to the dryer/filter.
DrytEC tECHNICaL SHEEt
The DRY TEC membrane dryer collects all of the following parts in a unique block:
• Filtering element ÷ condensate separator,
housed in thelower compressed air input head.
Its function is to separate the condensate liquid phase and then convey just the water
vapour phase towards the cores of the hollow fibre membranes.
• Anti-pulse device:
this is intelligently housed inside the filter itself and dampens the pulse
flow pertinent to the movement of the piston compressors, thus protecting the fibres from
undesirable stress.
• Automatic condensate drain:
no compromise is allowed: it is a real float drain that opera-
tes depending on the rising level of condensate and not of a partial device that can only
drain at the end of pumping.
• Core dehydrator:
this is made up from a bundle of hollow fibre membranes, whose cha
-
racteristic is that of distributing, i.e. transferring the humidity towards the outside, throu-
gh a porous wall characterised by a so-called selective molecular size, which allows mi-
gration just of the water vapour molecule, while the molecules of nitrogen and oxygen
making up the air flow remain inside the capillary tube.
• Regeneration nozzle cut-off:
in order to favour the extraction of the humidity “pumped”
through theporous wall, a percentage (~10 %) of dry air is expanded through a nozzle,
which makes this regeneration current flow in backflow mode on the external side of the
intertwined fibre membranes. Flexible and rational: depending on the size of the com
-
pressor, the nozzle can be changed so that a unique membrane covers the entire range
of flow rates (nominally from 100 and 150 NI/min, which can be optimised depending on
customer requirements).
