When riding your pedelec in the win-
ter, make note that the battery range
becomes smaller because of the low-
er temperatures. You can increase the range
by storing the battery in a warm room and
only attaching it to the bike shortly before use.
If you don’t use your pedelec for long-
er than 10 minutes, the system may
turn off automatically to save energy.
If you would like to ride with electrical support
again, restart the computer system.
Don’t ever ship a battery through
the mail on your own! Batteries are
considered dangerous goods. In cer-
tain conditions, the battery may overheat and
catch fire.
Battery safety
If you won’t be using the battery for an extended
period of time, you should store it in a dry and
well-ventilated area. When storing, never stack
batteries on top of each other or place them close
to each other. Ideally, you should place them in
a room temperature from 10 – 23°C and leave
them at a charge level from 50 – 75 %. If you
don’t use the battery for more than six months, it
will need to be recharged.

You can either control your pedelec using a control unit or a display unit. This is how they are (or for
the most part are) constructed:
Operating element
Batteries may only be dispatched by a trained
member of staff. If you have a problem with your
battery, consult a specialist retailer. A specialist
retailer can have the battery picked up free of
charge and in accordance with the dangerous
goods regulations.
If switched on,
the control units
receive their en-
ergy from the
pedelec’s bat-
tery. To switch
on the system,
simply press the
on/off button.
Do not use the pedals when turning on the sys-
tem or for the two seconds that follow.
The display fields provide you with differ kinds of
information. These are usually:
•
Support mode: You can make a selection us-
ing the two buttons. By pressing the buttons,
the support level is adjusted by one level, ei-
ther up or down.
