•
Check the electrical connection to DC input power cable to ensure that power is present
and connected.
•
Check the inline fuse on the DC input power cable.
•
Press the resettable breaker.
•
Ensure that the system is not overheating due to exposure to radiating heat sources. If the
system has overheated, it will resume functioning after it has been allowed to cool down for
ten or fifteen minutes.
•
Check the charge on the power source battery. The battery must be charged to >10.5 VDC
and <28 VDC.
If none of these measures correct the problem, then the amplifier module or the Control
Module will need to be replaced.
10.2 Symptom: There is low or no sound coming from the LRAD.
•
Power down the Amplifier Module for ten to fifteen minutes and power on again to see if a
temporary fault has cleared.
•
Remove the Amplifier Module from the head unit and disconnect the Speaker Out cable to
the drivers. Power up the Amplifier Module again.
If the fault is cleared by disconnecting the Head Unit, there may be a short in one of the drivers.
If there is, the Head Unit or the driver will have to be replaced.
10.3 Symptom: No display or backlights on Control Module.
The Control Module receives power from the Amplifier Module through the LRAD Control
connector. If the Control Module does not power up there will be no text on its display and the
buttons will not light up.
•
Check the power supply to the LRAD and ensure that it is properly connected and that its
output voltage is >10.5 VDC and <28 VDC. Check all fuses and breakers.
•
Ensure that the cable between the Control Module and the LRAD Amplifier Module is
connected as shown in Figure 5.
•
Inspect the Control Module cable for signs of wear and damage and replace the cable if
necessary.
