ETX SBC Central Processing Unit (CPU)
The ETX SBC Central Processing Unit (CPU), which is mounted on top of the ETX Base Board (see
), controls and processes the internal Back End Processor operations. In addition, the CPU
supports the Front End via the PCI bus.

Overview of ETX Base Board Functions
The ETX Base Board connects all the peripheral modules to the ETX single board computer. The CPU
(see
) is mounted on top of the ETX Base Board.
The ETX Base Board provides interfaces to the following components:

HDD

Front End (RFI) Board
•
USB ports
•
Docking port, speaker phones and speaker jacks
•
Keyboard
•
Battery
•
VGA
•
Fans
•
Power supply
The Power Management Controller (PMC), mounted on the ETX Base Board, ensures automatic
transition between the various power modes, stable DC condition, and provides power status LED display.
The Docking port, located on the rear panel of the ETX Base Board, provides the connections to the
Audio unit on the DIB, discrete control and status lines and 20V-DC power.
