Error Codes and Diagnostics
E2: Sound Speed Error
Problem:
The sound speed exceeds the limits programmed in the
Error Limits option of the
User Program
.
Cause:
The error may be caused by incorrect programming, poor
flow conditions or poor transducer orientation.
Action:
Compare the measured sound speed to tabulated nominal
values for the process fluid and correct any programming
errors. Refer to the sections on
Fluid and Pipe Problems
(page 6-6) and on
Transducer Problems
(page 6-8) to
correct any problems.
E3: Velocity Range
Problem:
The velocity exceeds the limits programmed in the
Error
Limits
option of the
User Program
.
Cause:
This error may be caused by the entry of improper
programming data or by poor flow conditions and/or
excessive turbulence.
Action:
Make sure the actual flow rate is within the programmed
limits. Also, check the value entered into the
Error Limits
option, as described on page 2-18. Refer to the sections
on
Fluid and Pipe Problems
(page 6-6) and on
Transducer Problems
(page 6-8) to correct any problems.
E4: Signal Quality
Problem:
The signal quality is outside the limits programmed in the
Error Limits
option of the
User Program
.
Cause:
The peak of the upstream or downstream correlation
signals has fallen below the correlation peak limit, as set
in the
Error Limits
option on page 2-18. This may be
caused by a flowcell or electrical problem.
Action:
Check for sources of electrical interference and verify the
integrity of the electronics console by temporarily
substituting a test flowcell that is known to be good.
Check the transducers and relocate them, if necessary.
E5: Amplitude Error
Problem:
The signal amplitude exceeds the limits programmed in
the
Error Limits
option of the
User Program
.
Cause:
Solid or gas particulates may be present in the flowcell.
The error could also be caused by poor coupling for
clamp-on transducers.
Action:
Refer to the section on
Fluid and Pipe Problems
(page
6-6) to correct any flowcell problems.
